With his plans to steal the SBCG4AP source code thoroughly thwarted, Strong Bad has slipped into a more passive-aggressive form of sabotage -- now, he's leaking game assets on his dev blog.
License holder or not, I'm pretty sure that guy signed an NDA when he came to work with us...
We will be at the Alternative Press Expo in San Francisco this weekend. Of all the shows we do, this one is my favorite* because it's small, down to earth, and not a pain in the ass. Also there are lots of cool indie comics for sale and interesting people to talk to. Including us!
Alternative Press Expo The Concourse
620 7th Street
San Francisco
Saturday, 11/1 - 11 am to 7 pm
Sunday, 11/2 - 11 am to 6 pm
Reasons you should come:
Telltale's booth! We're at booth 568, which we think is sorta near where we were last year. We'll have much of the loot from our online store for sale AND... take a deep breath... a few remaining copies of Steve's Sam & Max sketchbooks which are now out of print. We only take cash at these things, so bring some if you want stuff. We'll also have a Wii with us to demo Baddest of the Bands and Sam & Max.
Graham Annable! Graham will be sharing a table with us this year. In addition to the stuff we sell in the store, Graham always brings nice paintings to this show,** plus he'll be selling a new art book featuring work by him, Scott Campbell, Jon Klassen, and Israel Sanchez. I haven't seen it yet, but I'm sure it's excellent.
Steve Purcell! On Sunday Steve's joining us for a signing. Noonish? I'm not exactly sure, but he'll be there to sign books and prints and arms and legs, and we'll have a grand old time.
Andy Hartzell! The author of Fox Bunny Funny (and one of our Wallace & Gromit designers will be at the Global Hobo table (booth 287) selling three new comics. I forget what they're called but he showed them to me and they're quality. Andy's also doing a panel, Sunday from 3:45-5:00, entitled "The Bay Area's Young Cartoonists." Intriguing.
Bottom line, if you're in the San Francisco area, this is how you want to spend your Saturday and/or Sunday. Plus it's supposed to rain all weekend, so what else could you possibly have to do?
*Besides PAX. I love PAX too. But at APE we can set up in about 20 minutes including a coffee break...
**If you were paying attention, you may have noticed some in The Heist.
Our annual Halloween contest has come to a close, and as usual, choosing the winning entries was INCREDIBLY difficult. We had so many great entries, we decided to bend the rules. That's why, in addition to awarding Sam & Max or Strong Bad prize packs to the five winners, we've also selected five honorable mentions to receive the downloadable season of your choice, and everyone who entered will be getting a free downloadable game of your choice. Yes, folks, it's a Halloween miracle!
Without further ado, I bring you this year's winners! (Emails will be sent to the winners at some point in the near future!)
Toy Mafia Pencil Topper
by Glen Fernández
Glen explains: "I made a toy bear sculpture (from Sam & Max 103) with a working pencil sharpener and the head can be attached on the tip of any pencil."
The judges overwhelmingly agreed that this is not only awesome, it looks like something that should be real and for sale in our store. Well done.
