Sam & Max Season Two coming to retail, Wii

The Sam & Max front has gone quiet lately as we buckle down on other projects, but today I bring good news from across the pond!

This morning at a swanky press event in London, Atari announced a new partnership with Telltale to bring Sam & Max Season Two to retail worldwide in 2009. And no, this isn't just for PC -- it'll be coming out for Wii as well! Plus this will be the first time foreign language versions of Season Two are available, with fully localized releases in French and German, as well as Italian and Spanish subtitles.

We don't have a ton more to say about this right now, but both Telltale and Atari are really excited about the partnership and the chance to get Sam & Max out to an even bigger audience.

In other news, has anyone in Europe spotted Sam & Max Season One for Wii in the shops yet? English, French, Spanish, and Italian versions should be shipping out as we speak. (German's coming in 2009!) If you happen to see the game on a store shelf, why not snap a picture on the fly and send it our way, hmm?

Do your civic duty and vote! (For Max)

In a little over 24 hours, we Americans should have a new president.* Whew. If you are in the US (and old enough), we hope you're planning to vote tomorrow. It could just be the most important thing you do for the next four years. And hey, guess what?! We have a completely free, no-strings-attached politically-relevant game to get you in the mood! (Of course, if you're not in the US and/or are not old enough to vote, you can still entertain yourself with the free game while tomorrow's events unfold. Better to laugh with us than at us, after all.) DOWNLOAD ABE LINCOLN MUST DIE! (Or if you prefer, check out Abe Lincoln Must Die in the newly released Sam & Max Season One for Wii!) We hope you'll take this unique opportunity to join Sam & Max for a peek into how government is really run. And you can take comfort in the fact that no matter how bizarre the political scene becomes, it'll never be as bizarre as that time the Secret Service brought the Lincoln Memorial to life in an attempt to take over the world. Best mail day ever

Look what we got in the mail today! I preordered Sam & Max Wii from GameStop last week when they offered the free overnight shipping deal. (The disc on the left is the GameStop preorder bonus.) If you did too, go check your mailbox! Also, please let us know when you start seeing the game in stores... rumor has it it's already on the shelves on the east coast. The Season Two soundtrack also arrived at the office today and a zillion copies are en route to our warehouse as we speak, which means preorders will probably ship next week. (It's beautiful, and less dark than in that picture. Here's a better version.)

Your preorder options: busty lady with big guns, or dog and rabbity thing with big guns. Do you even have to think about it? Sam & Max Season One for Wii is going through the final spit and polish phase in manufacturing, and will start shipping to stores in North America early next week. How quickly it gets to your local store after that depends on a few factors -- such as your proximity to the manufacturing plant (I think it's in Atlanta), whether the delivery truck gets stuck in a hurricane, and your overall karma -- but it should be everywhere very soon. As you start seeing Sam & Max Wii in the shops, please email us to let us know where. (You get bonus points if you send a picture!) If you can't be bothered to check the store, GameStop.com is giving you the perfect excuse to preorder by offering free overnight shipping. The deal is only good for 24 hours so don't delay! (And don't forget, you get a nifty bonus CD when you place a preorder with GameStop...)
